The Open Window : BY Saki
Sake is a British writer. He write "The Open Window" 1870 . He was cynical.
-What are the role of these characters?
1-The doctor: (flat) He suggested to Mr. Nuttel to go out to countryside to get relax.
2- The sister of Mr. Nuttel : ( flat) she was secretary. She writes a litter. And , she knows Sapploton family. She also sent letter of introduction to Mrs. Sapploton.
3- Mr. Nuttel: ( round – main) He is an unbalanced man suffering from nerve stress. His personality is too weak. He came to the countryside to relax, but instead Vera manage to create a fake story to play with his mind and in the end he runs from the house of Mrs. Sapploton. ( He is flattering )
4- Vera : ( major- main) She is teenager. Her old is 15 years. She is Mrs. Sapploton's niece .She meets Mr. Nuttel and tells him about her aunt's tragedy. She is very clever and imagination girl. She is very good at using her wit, her face expression and music to make other believe her and trust her. She finds her life boring because she is always by herself . and she is teenager and all other adult. And the way of her thinking is different . So, she made the story to interesting herself. (She is big liar. She doesn't say the truth )
5- Mrs. Sapploton : ( Secondary) She is Vera's aunt. She received Mr. Nuttel after Vera did.
6- Mr. Sapploton and brothers un law of Mrs. Sapploton. : (flat) They are hunters.

(1) Main plot:
-Exposition :Mr. Nuttel visits Mrs. Sapploton house. While he is waiting. He meets Vera.
-Rising action: Vera tells Mr. Nuttel her aunt's story. She tells him that they keep the window open waiting for the hunters(Mr. Sapploton and brothers un law of Mrs. Sapploton) to return. Then, he meets Mrs. Sapploton and she talks about her husband and her brothers. Mr. Nuttel starts to think Mrs. Sapploton is insane ( crazy , mad )
- Climax: When the sun starts to set. Three men can be seen. They are walking towards the open window.
-Falling action: Mr. Nuttel becomes scared. When he sees the three hunters and a dog. So, He runs away quickly.
-Resolution (End) : The family think that Mr. Nuttel is crazy because he ran away without telling anyone
(2) Subplot: The story of Mr. Sapploton and brothers in law of Mrs. Sapploton. That's fake tragedy story. Which is told by Vera to Mr. Nuttel. Prove the story of Vera.

-She is doing that for fun. Because her family are bored. And they are bored because she is teenager, and all other are adult. And the way of thinking is different, she makes a story to interesting herself .
